India Seals T20I Series By 4-1 After Abhishek Sharma’s Explosive Knock Of 135 Runs

Abhishek Sharma’s extraordinary all-round performance propelled India to a historic victory over England in T20Is, marking their largest win by runs. The electrifying atmosphere at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on Sunday witnessed a dominant display from the Indian team, leaving the spectators in awe.

Opening the innings with an explosive 54-ball 135, Abhishek played a crucial role in setting up a formidable total of 247/9 in 20 overs. His aggressive stroke play put India in a commanding position, making it difficult for England to mount a successful chase. When it was England’s turn to bat, their innings crumbled under pressure, managing only 97 runs before being bowled out. This emphatic victory surpassed India’s previous record margin of 90 runs against England in Colombo in 2012 and became the second-largest win for the team overall.

England’s hopes of a competitive chase rested on Phil Salt, who provided a fiery start with a quick 23-ball 55, striking seven boundaries and three sixes. However, his efforts went in vain as the rest of the batting lineup failed to capitalize on the momentum. Players such as Ben Duckett, Jos Buttler, Harry Brook, and Liam Livingstone struggled to make an impact, collectively contributing a mere 18 runs despite favorable batting conditions. The lower order also offered no resistance, succumbing to India’s relentless bowling attack.

Returning to haunt England after his batting heroics, Abhishek Sharma showcased his bowling prowess by dismissing Brydon Carse and Jamie Overton in his only over, finishing with figures of 2/3. The Indian bowling unit, led by Mohammed Shami’s 3/25, ensured there was no way back for England. Shivam Dube chipped in with 2/11, while Varun Chakravarthy and Ravi Bishnoi contributed with 2/25 and 1/9, respectively, sealing a momentous triumph for India.
