IndiGo Airlines Responds After Facing Backlash For Not Selling Tea-Coffee Separately

The IndiGo airlines is facing wrath of many online users after one passenger took to X (formerly Twitter) and slammed the airlines for discontinuing the sale of individual beverage cans.

Recently, the airlines adopted a new approach as they have made it necessary for the passengers to buy beverages along with the meals.

The angry passenger tweeted, “Recently took an IndiGo flight. Surprised to find that they don’t sell tea/ coffee separately. Given that many pax would be wanting to just have a tea/coffee, one would need to buy a snack + beverage for 200/, effectively meaning a tea/ coffee will cost 200/ Definitely not an example of customer centricity.”

Soon reactions started flowing in and the majority of them slammed the airlines for their new approach. Here are some selected tweets:

The airlines also responded to the tweet and tried to explain their stance, “Sir, we have revamped our services to provide an efficient, sustainable, and affordable snack experience. This initiative aligns with our commitment to Go Green. Our customers may now enjoy a complimentary beverage with any snack purchased on board.”

Not selling tea or coffee individually is certainly wrong because many times we Indians like to have just tea or coffee to get refreshed and this new approach definitely does not seem to be a good one. What is your opinion in this regard? Share with us.
