Apple may unveil iOS 18, one of the biggest iPhone updates, at the June WWDC event. The update should improve Siri and Messages auto-complete.
“I’m told that the new operating system is seen within the company as one of the biggest iOS updates — if not the biggest — in the company’s history,” Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman said in his latest Power On newsletter.
He said, “Apple’s developers conference in June should be pretty exciting.”
Gurman has previously indicated that Apple will release a new Siri with a new AI engine, but the latest assertion is ambiguous.
New Siri and Messages auto-completion and question-answering features are also expected from Apple.
RCS compatibility may be included in iOS 18 after Apple announced in November that it would add it in 2024.
Apple updated iOS, Safari, and the App Store after the EU’s Digital Markets Act (DMA) took effect in March.
The company said the changes will reduce DMA users’ privacy and security worries by adding controls, disclosures, and protections.
Introducing third-party app shops to iOS is the big news. The March updates will be for iOS 17.4.
