iPhone 15 Pro Price Drops by Rs 5,900: New Rates Post-Budget 2024

Budget 2024 has either increased concern or provided a sense of relaxation. The latter appears to be the case among fans of iPhones. Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said during the budget that imports of mobile phones, printed circuit boards (PCBA), and mobile chargers would pay a five per cent reduction in basic customs duty (BCD), which was previously set at twenty per cent.

It is believed that Apple lowered the cost of all of its iPhone models in India a few days following the change. The Cupertino, California-based tech giant has also dropped the price of its top-tier Pro models for the first time in India.

An indirect tax known as BCD is applied to imported products. It is typically determined using the product’s assessment value and can range from 0% to 100% based on the product’s HSN code and the country of import.

What are the new costs, then?

After initially retailing for Rs 1,34,900, the iPhone 15 Pro is now available for Rs 1,29,800, and the iPhone 15 Pro Max, which was initially priced at Rs 1,59,000, is currently available at Rs 1,54,000. The pricing difference for the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max is Rs 5,900 and Rs 5,100, respectively.
Meanwhile, the base versions, the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus, have only been reduced by Rs 300. The iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus have revised prices of Rs 79,600 and Rs 89,600, respectively. The price of the iPhone 13 and iPhone 14 has also been lowered by Rs 300, making them currently available for Rs 59,600 and Rs 69,600, respectively. The iPhone SE, which was previously priced at Rs 49,900, has experienced a significant price drop and is now available for Rs 47,600.
