A China-made OLED display is expected in the iPhone SE 4, the fourth version of the ‘Special Edition’ iPhone. The article claims the corporation is negotiating display costs with three suppliers. The iPhone SE has not been announced by the firm. The last ‘Special Edition’ iPhone debuted in 2022.
BOE Likely to Supply iPhone SE 4 Display
Chinese electronic component company BOE (Jingdongfang) will supply OLED panels for the iPhone SE 4, according to ZDNet Korea and industry sources. Other bidders were Smasung and BOE.
Samsung Opts Out Due to Cost Concerns
Samsung pulled out of the transaction over business feasibility, the newspaper said. Samsung Display initially quoted $35 to $40 (Rs. 2,900 to Rs. 3,300) per display unit, whereas Chinese rivals quoted $30. Samsung ended talks in mid-March after Apple paid $25 (Rs. 2,100).
According to the magazine, Samsung was not interested in making mid-range phone displays due to cost.
Tianma Falls Short on Display Specifications
The report states that BOE is the only Chinese supplier of iPhone SE 4 display units and ready to offer Apple’s inexpensive smartphone. However, Tianma has struggled to achieve Apple’s display specifications for the 2025 iPhone SE 4.

Apple has scheduled its 2024 WWDC. Developers from around the world attend this annual gathering at the company headquarters to try out new software features and upgrades. Apple is expected to unveil additional artificial intelligence technologies this year for future software updates.
