Former India cricketer Harbhajan Singh has strongly criticized Congress leader Shama Mohamed after she took a dig at Rohit Sharma’s fitness and questioned his captaincy, even as India continues its unbeaten streak in the Champions Trophy.
Following her remarks, multiple prominent personalities have rallied behind Rohit, acknowledging his crucial contributions to Indian cricket. Harbhajan, an influential figure in the sport, did not hold back in his response, taking a firm stand against the criticism directed at the Indian captain.
“Well, there will be people who’ll keep on talking about his fitness, captaincy skills. But I just asked a very simple question to that lady who made this remark about Rohit Sharma’s fitness: whether she’s a part of BCCI (Board of Control for Cricket in India) or any other organisation where she understands the rule and also the fitness,” Harbhajan said while speaking in an interview.
“So, putting a finger towards anyone is very easy, but at the same time, the thumb is facing towards you, so just check yourself too,” he added.
With the Indian team performing exceptionally well in the tournament, Harbhajan’s remarks further reinforced the growing support for Rohit Sharma, who continues to lead from the front in the Champions Trophy.
