Gadar 2 has received a lot of love from the audiences as the movie has shattered many records at the box-office and now it is also available on a digital platform. It is a sequel of 2001 released Gadar: Ek Prem Katha which starred Sunny Deol and Ameesha Patel in lead roles while the role of the villain was played by Amrish Puri.
While Sunny and Ameesha have reprised their roles in Gadar 2, Amrish Puri is no more in this world so the makers needed an actor who could portray the villain in a perfect manner. In Gadar 2, the role of villain was essayed by Manish Wadhwa who played the character of Major General Hamid Iqbal in the movie. Manish has worked in quite a few serials and he is also famous in the southern movies in which he has played negative characters.
Recently, during an interview, Manish Wadhwa talks about Sunny Deol and says that he is a very soft-spoken person but he quickly turns into a lion during the shot. Manish says that Sunny’s love and dedication for his work is immense and his ability to soak himself into the character is just great.
Manish also said that director Anil Sharma and action director Ravi Verma had a discussion regarding the actor who would play the role of villain in the movie after which Ravi met Manish and discussed with him. .
Manish Wadhwa added that the makers talked to another actor for the villain’s character too but things didn’t work out.
Gadar 2 also starred Utkarsh Sharma and Simrat Kaur in important roles.
