Is This The Reason Why MS Dhoni Chose Independence Day To Take Retirement?

MS Dhoni is certainly one of the most successful captains of the Indian cricket team and what makes fans miss him more is the drought of the ICC trophy which the Indian team hasn’t won in the last 10 years.

MS Dhoni retired from international cricket on 15 August 2020 at 7:29 pm but do you have any idea why he chose India’s Independence Day for taking retirement?

Well, 15 August is quite special for Mahi as it is not just India’s Independence Day but it is also his mother’s birthday and yesterday, MS Dhoni’s wife Sakshi posted birthday wishes for her mother-in-law Devaki Devi.

MS Dhoni is the youngest kid of Paan Singh Dhoni and Devaki Devi and in an interview, Sakshi Dhoni talked about her relationship with her mother-in-law. She stated, “I met my mother-in-law one day before the marriage. The first time, yes! So today, touchwood we have a very good bond and we are like friends actually, We share everything. Earlier when I was new at the house and Dhoni was out for games, I was waking up, like literally they were strangers to me. From there, till now our relationship has really developed. She is an immense support to me. I cannot think of not being with her in the same household.”

Maybe because of his mother’s birthday, MS Dhoni chose 15 August 2020 as the day to announce his retirement. Well, the good thing is that we can still see him play as he leads Chennai Super Kings in the IPL.
