Fashion moments at big celebrations often set new trends, and Isha Ambani’s latest appearance did exactly that. At her recent sangeet event, Isha stepped out in an outfit that felt more like a global runway statement than traditional bridal party wear. The look blended modern international design with rich Indian craftsmanship, creating a style that felt bold yet graceful.

Styled by Anaita Shroff Adajania, the ensemble brought together structured Western tailoring and detailed Indian artistry.

A corset instead of a choli

The highlight of the outfit was a custom corset from New York-based label Wiederhoeft. The champagne-toned, strapless piece replaced the traditional choli with a sharply structured design that looked sculpted and elegant.

Detailed embroidery followed the natural curves of the corset, giving Isha a well-defined silhouette. The design felt modern while still suitable for a grand celebration, showing how Western corset styles can blend smoothly with Indian festive wear.

A lehenga rooted in tradition

Balancing the corset’s strong structure was a voluminous lehenga skirt designed by Manish Malhotra, a name closely linked with Indian wedding couture.

The skirt featured rich silver zardozi embroidery and sequin work that shimmered beautifully with movement. Its wide flare and intricate detailing added a sense of classic Indian luxury, keeping the outfit connected to the joyful spirit of a sangeet function.

Together, the corset and lehenga created a striking East-meets-West style that felt daring without losing cultural depth.

Diamonds and soft glam

Isha Ambani’s jewellery added elegance without overwhelming the outfit. A diamond maang tika highlighted her face, while chandelier earrings matched the sparkle of the lehenga. Stacked diamond bangles brought a touch of vintage glamour and balanced the corset’s bare neckline.

Her hair and makeup completed the polished look. She wore her hair in a sleek half-ponytail with soft waves flowing down her back, keeping attention on the corset’s details. Her makeup stayed fresh and classic, with glowing skin, softly defined eyes, and a neutral lip that matched the champagne tones.

More than just festive fashion, the outfit reflected how Indian occasion wear is evolving. By pairing a couture corset with a heritage lehenga, Isha Ambani showed how modern bridal style can embrace global fashion while celebrating traditional craftsmanship. The result felt fresh, confident, and distinctly contemporary.
