IT Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw expects AI to be a game changer for some sectors in India

The Global Partnership on Artificial Intelligence (GPAI) would help India’s government ensure responsible AI use for millions of users. The summit is scheduled for December 12-14 in New Delhi.

The Indian government says the Global Partnership on Artificial Intelligence (GPAI) is trying to make AI an energetic facilitator for millions of users with clear and accountable protective power. Prime Minister Narendra Modi started the GPAI summit in the capital and said AI may change the digital landscape.

The Union IT Minister, Ashwini Vaishnaw, stated AI will transform water resources, healthcare, agriculture, and education. It will help India establish concrete use cases.

Rajeev Chandrasekhar, Minister of State for Electronics and IT, said, “GPAI is a coming together of the nations that can work together to shape the future of AI to give a framework that enables the good of AI for all our people, while ensuring clear and accountable guardrails and safety, trust, and responsibility.”

He continued, “As the host nation, we have seen the power of tech in the previous nine years when our PM launched Digital India, and how technology has altered our citizens’ lives.”

The Indian summit will be held in New Delhi from December 12-14. Vaishnaw believes “we will be able to arrive at some consensus” on establishing responsible AI to protect the nation’s future.

After the successful UK AI Safety meeting, the GPAI meeting on December 12 in India will discuss AI hazards before a global framework reaches South Korea in 2024.
