Surbhi Jyoti has long been a beloved face on Indian television, earning acclaim for her roles in shows like Qubool Hai, Naagin 3, and Ishqbaaz. With her widespread popularity and devoted fanbase, it’s no surprise that the actress has repeatedly been approached to join the reality show Bigg Boss. However, she has always chosen to stay away from the drama-filled competition, and now, she’s finally sharing the reasons behind that decision.

In a recent interview, Surbhi opened up about her longstanding refusal to participate in Bigg Boss. During a special photo segment in the interview, she was shown an old picture from a promotional shoot with Salman Khan. Surbhi used this moment to clarify a common misconception—that promo was never meant to suggest she was entering the Bigg Boss house. “It was a PR trick,” she explained, pointing out that the shoot was done purely for marketing purposes.

When asked directly if she would ever consider participating in the show, Surbhi didn’t hesitate. “No,” she responded firmly.

Explaining her stance, the actress reflected on her personality and early years. “I think I am not that competitive. I used to be very competitive when I used to participate in theatre and in debates in college. I won so many national championships in debates. But that is what I wanted to do – to just go and perform the character and say my lines.”

She acknowledged the challenges of a show like Bigg Boss and admitted, “Bigg Boss is very difficult for me. But still ‘Never say never.’” Surbhi went on to share that her journey to Mumbai was always about pursuing acting, not being a part of televised competitions. She emphasized once more, “By nature, I am not that competitive,” and noted she has no desire to push herself into something that doesn’t feel authentic to who she is.

As she concluded, Surbhi Jyoti reaffirmed her choice with a simple yet powerful statement: “It’s just not me.”
