On Tuesday, April 9, actor Janhvi Kapoor attended the showing of “Maidaan,” the film directed by her father, Boney Kapoor. She drew attention to herself during the screening by wearing a necklace with the word “Shiku” inscribed on it. Janhvi calls her partner Shikhar Pahariya “Shiku.” Janhvi has never before acknowledged her connection with Shikhar in public.
Wearing an all-white pant suit, Janhvi looked lovely at the “Maidaan” screening in Mumbai. She wore identical heels and wore her hair free. Fans of Janhvi, however, were drawn to her personalised jewellery. When a paparazzo posted a video of Janhvi from the event, one of the fans said, “Her necklace???” “Is that shiku?” One more person said, “The name on the necklace.”
Janhvi posed for a picture with her father Boney and her actor brother Arjun Kapoor before viewing “Maidaan.” Arjun showed up for the screening all black, while Boney Kapoor was dressed in a blue kurta.
Last year, during an episode of Karan Johar’s chat show, ‘Koffee With Karan’, Janhvi addressed Shikhar Paharaiya as ‘Shiku’. When Karan questioned her about the names of three persons who are on her speed dial, Janhvi instantly answered, “Papa, Khushu and Shiku.” But as soon as she said it, Janhvi knew that she had mistakenly used Shikhar’s name.
On social media, Shikhar frequently declares his love for Janhvi. With a photo of the two of them in front of the Eiffel Tower, he wished her a happy birthday in March. On April 3, Janhvi neglected to post a birthday message for him.
Even though Janhvi has now openly acknowledged her connection with Shikhar, her father Boney Kapoor recently attested to it in a news outlet interview. “I love him (Shikhar), and in between, a few years ago, Janhvi wasn’t seeing him, but I was still friendly with him,” he declared. He could never be my ex, I was sure of it. He will be present. When any individual is there for you in whatever capacity whether it’s for me, whether it’s for Janhvi, whether it’s for Arjun, he is kind to everybody. Therefore, I think it’s a blessing that we have someone like him in our team.”
‘Maidaan’, directed by Boney Kapoor and starring Ajay Devgn in the title role, will hit cinemas on April 11.
