In a recent promo for The Great Indian Kapil Show, actress Janhvi Kapoor discussed her connection to South Indian culture. She revealed that her father, Boney Kapoor, embraced South Indian traditions after falling in love with her mother, Sridevi. Sridevi, who was raised in Chennai, had a Tamilian father and a Telugu-speaking mother.
Janhvi shared that both she and her sister, Khushi Kapoor, have also embraced their mother’s South Indian heritage. In the video, Janhvi humorously mentioned that her father ‘converted’ to South Indian culture by starting to eat idlis for breakfast instead of traditional Punjabi parathas after marrying Sridevi. She added that her mother eventually adopted some North Indian traits and even started to ‘fight like a North Indian.’
During the promo, host Kapil Sharma also engaged Jr NTR in a light-hearted conversation, asking him to name his favorite North Indian actress. The Devara star quickly responded, “Sridevi, always.” Saif Ali Khan, who was also present, added humorously, “Hey, that was my answer for the South!”
