The Indian star pacer Jasprit Bumrah has been out of action for quite a long time now due to back injury issues and there were speculations that he will be making a comeback in the Asia Cup 2023 but now there are some reports which suggest that Bumrah will be back in the squad for the Ireland tour.
There is no denying the fact that India missed their star pacer in the Asia Cup 2022, T20 World Cup and also in the WTC final which they lost to Australia by 209 runs. Considering the fact that the Asia Cup 2023 and the ODI World Cup are scheduled to be played later this year, the BCCI is in no mood to take any chances with India’s best pacer.
India will be travelling to Ireland in August where they will play three-match T20I series at Malahide and by playing Jasprit Bumrah in this series, the team management will get an idea about Bumrah’s fitness as the Asia Cup is scheduled in September and the World Cup is scheduled in October.
An official stated, “Jasprit Bumrah is looking very good for the Ireland series in August this year. It will be a big boost to the Indian cricket team and will also allow Bumrah time in the middle after the long injury lay-off. If everything stays on course, a Bumrah at peak fitness is likely to take field.”
We are eagerly waiting to see Jasprit Bumrah back in action, what about you?
