Akash Ambani, who is the chairman of Reliance Jio Infocomm, said the company is partnering with the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bombay on the ‘Bharat GPT’ initiative. He announced this at the institute’s Techfest.
Ambani stressed the need of a strong developer ecosystem and the company’s commitment to ‘Jio 2.0.’ Bharat GPT, a 2014 IIT Bombay partnership, uses big language models like ChatGPT to develop generative AI. This initiative fits Jio’s objective to study AI’s revolutionary potential across industries.
In addition to Bharat GPT, Ambani introduced Jio’s ambitious TV technology business. He said the company is creating a television operating system (OS) to expand its product line beyond telecommunications. Ambani stressed Jio’s resolve to diversifying into media, commerce, communication, and devices by launching this TV OS comprehensively.
Ambani pledged to integrate AI vertically throughout the corporation and laterally across all sectors, anticipating its disruptive power. Jio will develop new goods and services to strengthen its technical leadership in India.
Ambani was excited about Jio’s 5G private networks, which will give a 5G stack to all sizes of businesses. Ambani called India the “biggest innovation center” for the next decade and predicted a USD 6 trillion economy.
Ambani recounted using an AI software to manage mattress temperature, underlining that Jio’s AI is “all included.”
As Jio became the world’s largest startup, Ambani encouraged young entrepreneurs to not fear failure and to contribute to society while being passionate about their work.
