While most eyes are on the debates inside Parliament, Kangana Ranaut is quietly making statements of her own, through fashion.
During Parliament’s Winter Session, the actor-turned-politician once again used her wardrobe to celebrate India’s rich handloom traditions. Now representing Mandi in Himachal Pradesh as a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP, Kangana has consistently highlighted regional craftsmanship through her public appearances.
On Tuesday, she stepped out in an elegant ivory chiffon saree, pairing it with a vibrant, multicoloured overcoat that immediately caught attention. The look was graceful yet bold. She completed the outfit with diamond drop earrings and a subtle bindi, keeping the styling refined and classic.
Later, Kangana revealed that the striking overcoat was woven by women from her Mandi constituency under the guidance of Kullvi Whims, a women-led collective from the Kullu Valley. The group works to preserve traditional wool spinning and weaving techniques that have been passed down through generations.
The jackets created by Kullvi Whims are handcrafted using indigenous wool sourced from the Gaddis, a Himalayan pastoral community. They are dyed naturally using local plants, and each woven motif reflects the heritage, stories and lived experiences of the women artisans behind the craft.
This is not the first time Kangana has promoted Himachali textiles in Parliament. During the Budget Session 2026, she wore the Shepherd Nuala Unisex Jacket along with a traditional Himachali topi, once again drawing attention to local craftsmanship.
Kangana has also been vocal about supporting Indian-made products. In an earlier Instagram post, she shared that she bought a Khadi saree from a Khadi India store and paid for it using UPI. She credited Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat as her inspiration and encouraged people to choose indigenous products, especially during festivals and special occasions, to support artisans and strengthen the economy.
Through every carefully chosen outfit, Kangana Ranaut continues to blend politics, culture and craftsmanship, proving that what she wears carries a message far beyond style.
