Actor-director Karan Razdan recently reflected on the relationship between Bollywood legends Sridevi and Mithun Chakraborty, revealing that the two often had heated arguments. During an interview, Razdan took a nostalgic trip down memory lane, recalling how the duo used to fight through the night. However, he refrained from divulging further details about their relationship.
“They used to fight all night. She is no more in this world; so, I cannot speak about her much,” Razdan said, as quoted by a leading publication.
When asked how Mithun managed morning shoots despite staying up all night, Razdan was quick to praise the veteran actor’s resilience. “The kind of energy Mithun da has, no one else does. He can stay up all night, rehearsing his dance steps for the next day or fighting over the phone, and still be on time the next morning. He is a very emotional man. He wore his heart on his sleeve. He was so pure-hearted,” he added.
Mithun Chakraborty and Sridevi first met on the sets of Jaag Utha Insan, and rumors of a romantic relationship soon followed. Speculation was rife that the two secretly married in a court ceremony in 1985. Allegedly, they remained married until 1988, despite Mithun already being married to Yogeeta Bali since 1979. Mithun and Yogeeta share two sons, Mimoh Chakraborty and Namashi Chakraborty.
Reports suggest that by 1987, Boney Kapoor’s growing closeness to Sridevi led to a fallout in Mithun’s marriage. Yogeeta Bali reportedly discovered his alleged affair, straining both Mithun’s personal life and his friendship with Boney Kapoor. Ultimately, Sridevi is said to have filed for an annulment in 1988, bringing an end to her association with Mithun.
Though the details of their relationship remain speculative, Razdan’s revelations have reignited discussions about one of Bollywood’s most talked-about love stories.
