Karnataka Fruit Seller’s Attention Wins Praise from Anand Mahindra: Here’s Why

Adarsh Hegde, a Twitter user, shared a video online showing a fruit vendor picking up the trash that her customers had thrown about the bus stop. The video quickly gained popularity. According to reports, this video was shot at the Ankola Bus station in Karnataka. Since it was posted, it has received more than 14,000 likes so far.

Anand Mahindra reposted a video of individuals promoting Bharat Swachh and enquired as to how they may be contacted to express gratitude for their efforts. He advised locating a local and getting in touch with them.

After a short while, Hegde responded, identifying the woman as Mohini Krishna Gowda and stating that he had her son’s phone number. It will be fascinating to observe how Mahindra now thanks the elderly woman.

Mahindra saw Kamalathal, also known as Idli Amma, an elderly Coimbatore resident who operated a small idli store and served idlis for Rs 1 per piece, in 2019. To accommodate daily wage workers who couldn’t afford expensive costs, she kept the pricing modest. Her narrative moved Mahindra, who assisted her in obtaining an LPG hookup for her shop. Two years later, in May 2022, Mahindra’s business built a home for the 85-year-old, and on Mother’s Day, they handed her the keys to her new home.
