Kerala Minister Reacts Over Little Boy’s Demand For Biryani In Anganwadi

It is being said that if a person wants something from heart then the whole universe ensures that the person’s wish gets fulfilled and something similar happened with a little boy from Kerala.

Little Shanku, a regular at his local anganwadi, wasn’t particularly fond of the upma served there. Instead, he longed for “birnani”—his adorable mispronunciation of biryani—and “poricha kozhi” (chicken fry). His mother, amused by his innocent demand, recorded a video and shared it on social media. What followed was an overwhelming response, with users gushing over Shanku’s cuteness and rallying behind his request. His wish even reached government officials, prompting discussions about the anganwadi menu.

Among those who took notice was Kerala’s Minister for Health, Women, and Child Development, Veena George. Clearly charmed by Shanku’s plea, she announced that the anganwadi food menu would be reviewed to accommodate his suggestion. Sending her warm regards to Shanku, his mother, and the anganwadi staff, she affirmed that his request was being taken seriously.

The minister explained that while the anganwadi meal plans are designed to ensure balanced nutrition for children, the government has continuously worked towards diversifying food options. She cited initiatives like the successful inclusion of eggs and milk and highlighted the ongoing collaboration between the Department of Women and Child Development and local bodies to enhance meal variety.

In the now-viral video, Shanku can be seen wearing a small helmet, seemingly in the middle of play, as he earnestly expresses his wish for biryani and chicken fry instead of upma. His mother later revealed that ever since the clip gained traction, numerous people have reached out, offering to treat Shanku to his favorite meal. Speaking to a news channel, she shared how strangers, moved by his love for biryani, had called with offers to fulfill his wish.

What started as a simple request from a little boy has turned into a heartwarming moment, proving that sometimes, all it takes is an innocent wish to bring people together—even over a plate of biryani.
