“Kharid Lu Kya?” Shah Rukh Khan Joked When He Was Shooed Away From Mannat

Shah Rukh Khan and Gauri Khan’s iconic Mumbai residence, Mannat, is set to become even grander. Reports suggest that two new floors will be added to its already impressive structure. Known as a major landmark and a tourist attraction, Mannat is an extravagant bungalow valued at approximately Rs 200 crore. Amid the discussions of this expansion, choreographer Ahmed Khan reminisced about a moment during the shoot of Yes Boss when SRK had humorously mentioned buying the property.

In an interview, Ahmed recalled an amusing incident. “We were shooting ‘Chand Taare’ outside Mannat and the watchman shooed us away. There’s a shot of a Parsi couple driving and Shah Rukh jumps on the car. We took that shot and the watchman shooed us.” He further shared how Shah Rukh joked about the situation, saying, “Shall I buy it? Then we’ll be able to shoot here.” At that time, the house wasn’t known as Mannat, but SRK’s casual remark eventually turned into reality when he later purchased the property.

During the upcoming construction phase, reports indicate that Shah Rukh and his family will relocate to a temporary residence in Bandra for nearly three years. Having lived in Mannat for over two decades, this move will mark a significant change for the superstar, as he will experience living in an apartment complex with neighbors for the first time in 20 years.

Shah Rukh Khan has secured two luxurious duplex apartments in Puja Casa, Pali Hill, Bandra, on a three-year lease. These properties belong to producer Vashu Bhagnani and his family. The first apartment, owned by Jackky Bhagnani and Deepshikha Deshmukh, is leased at Rs 11.54 lakh per month, with a security deposit of Rs 32.97 lakh. The second apartment, owned by Vashu Bhagnani himself, is rented at Rs 12.61 lakh per month, requiring a security deposit of Rs 36 lakh.

This move follows Gauri Khan’s application for approval from the Maharashtra Coastal Zone Management Authority (MCZMA) to expand Mannat. The proposed expansion includes adding two floors to the six-storey annexe, increasing the built-up area by 616.02 square meters. With Mannat set to evolve further, the Khan family’s iconic home continues to reflect the grandeur and ambition that defines Shah Rukh Khan’s journey.
