Karan Johar, the famous producer-director is often slammed for promoting nepotism in Bollywood as he has launched many star kids in the industry but in an old video which is currently going viral, the actress Kiara Advani is seen defending Karan Johar by saying that he gave her work when she was nobody and an outsider.
The old video dates back to the time when Kartik Aaryan and Kiara Advani were promoting Satyaprem ki Katha. She said to Anupama Chopra, “Karan gets so much hate for nepotism and all of that but to be honest, he took me when I was nobody and nobody told him to… I was with a particular agency that was very close to him at that time. They never pushed my name to work with him and they could have. I must have even told them that could you speak to him and see if I can get an audition, and they didn’t.”
She further said, “That would have been a much easier way but it took a random party, a random night, for him to see me and call me the next day and say, ‘You know what, I’m making this film and I really feel like there is something about you. There’s this innocence that I would like to tap into. Will you come and hear it?’ At first, I was like Karan Johar is calling me! But people are always like this nepotism… it must be there, I’m not saying it’s not there. But these are people who are supremely successful but they didn’t have that apprehension. They didn’t approach me like that. They didn’t only come to me because I was…”

Soon the redditors started trolling her and also talked about Kartik Aaryan’s reaction who was sitting next to her. They talked about her relation with Juhi Chawla and her family’s close connection with Salman Khan and how we can forget to mention that Kiara is Isha Ambani’s good friend.
