The Indian pacer Jasprit Bumrah is back with a bang as team India registered victory in the first T20I of the 3-match series which they played against Ireland. The match was played yesterday at The Village, Malahide and Jasprit Bumrah, the stand-in skipper, was adjudged as the Player of the Match after he took 2 wickets in 1 over in this rain-affected match.
The toss was won by the Indian team and they decided to bowl first, the hosts managed to put up a score of 139/7 in their stipulated 20 overs. When India was at the score of 47/2 in 6.5 overs, rain started and after that, not even a single ball was bowled due to rain. Though the Indian team won the match by 2 runs because of DLS, there are many who got a little disappointed as they were eagerly waiting to see the Indian cricketer Rinku Singh perform at the international level.
Rinku Singh has earned the image of one of the finest finishers as he has made his IPL team KKR win many close matches. Kiran More, the former Indian cricketer stated in an interview that he feels Rinku Singh can be a finisher like MS Dhoni and Yuvraj Singh.
He said, “I have been waiting for his opportunity in the Indian team. And that batting position, of No.5 and 6, he will perform well in that spot and can end up being a brilliant finisher. We all have seen MS Dhoni and Yuvraj Singh. After that we haven’t got a player like them. We tried making such players, but it didn’t work so far. Tilak Varma is also there, he too can perform that role. Rinku is also a brilliant fielder.”
