Nupur Sanon, sister of actress Kriti Sanon, is currently facing significant online backlash for her fashion brand, Label Nobo. The brand is drawing criticism for what many social media users are calling “ridiculous” pricing for “basic” clothing items. On the Label Nobo website, the most affordable dress is priced around Rs 7,000, while a kurta set can cost as much as Rs 26,500. Nupur is being widely trolled on Reddit, with users complaining about a perceived lack of premium quality and originality in the brand’s offerings.
Founded by Nupur Sanon in 2024, Nobo, which stands for “No boundaries,” asserts that “We use premium high-quality fabrics.” The brand has seen endorsements from various personalities, including Kriti Sanon herself, Uorfi Javed, Sanjana Sanghi, and Rida Tharana, among others. Delving into the pricing, the most expensive lehenga available on the website is a Banarasi piece valued at Rs 21,000. For suit sets, the highest price point is Rs 26,500, with the least expensive set coming in at Rs 7,700. In the western wear category, a skirt and crop top set is the priciest item at Rs 20,000, while the cheapest offering is a pair of shorts for Rs 2,400.
Reddit users are vociferously trolling the brand, expressing their inability to justify such exorbitant prices for what they consider “basic” looking clothes. One person humorously remarked, “I think her brand name is incomplete cause she clearly forgot to write Label NoboDY IS BUYING THIS OVERPRICED FAST FASHION SHIT FROM ME.” Another user added to the sentiment, “Who is going to buy at these prices even for her sister’s name?” echoing the widespread disbelief, with another outright stating, “She’s scamming people.” The comments continued, with one person simply writing, “Ridiculous,” and another humorously offering, “Rs 750 last price.” Further illustrating the disconnect, a user commented, “I have been to Jaipur and Jodhpur the past year and honestly, have found better patchwork jackets from local markets for less than Rs 1500.” The local market comparison was echoed by another who mentioned, “Bhai yeh sab kapre Rajouri or Chandni Chowk mein dhakke khaa rhe hai. What even????” The critique extended to aesthetics, with one comment bluntly reading, “These are the ugliest clothes I’ve ever seen, good lord.”
