Kritika Kamra Says She Was To Make Bollywood Debut With Karan Johar But….

The actress Kritika Kamra is among those actresses who have managed to make their presence felt in Bollywood after working in the Indian television industry and Mitron (2018) was her debut movie but do you know that initially she was supposed to debut with a movie which was scheduled to be produced jointly by Karan Johar and Ekta Kapoor?

Kritika Kamra was finalized for playing a role in the remake of Mira Nair’s Vanity Fair (2004) which starred Reese Witherspoon and the Hindi version would have also starred Emraan Hashmi.

During an interview, Kritika Kamra stated “If that film would have happened, it would have been my debut. It was the first film that I had signed. It was supposed to be directed by Akshay Roy. We did the prep and the readings. The schedules were all charted. But then the film didn’t happen because of some financial and business reasons.”

She also talked about how it made her upset, “That was the time when I had quit television and was auditioning for films. To get a Dharma launch was and is a pretty big deal. It was signed and sealed and was ready to go on floors. And when that didn’t happen, it was kind of disappointing. But looking back, I think I’m happy with the way things turned out.”

Kritika will be seen next in Gyaarah Gyaarah, a Zee5 web series in which Karan Johar is a co-producer and talking about her first collaboration with Dharma, she said, “Gyaarah Gyaarah is technically my first collaboration with Dharma. Things happen on their own and maybe this is how I was supposed to collaborate with them. Everything happens at the right time. I’m more prepared now than I was at that time.”

Have you seen the trailer of Gyaarah Gyaarah?
