Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) Working President KT Rama Rao (KTR) has condemned the arrest of actor Allu Arjun, calling it a reflection of the “insecurity of the rulers”. Arjun was taken into custody on Friday afternoon from his residence under tight security and escorted to the Chikkadpally police station.
The arrest stems from a tragic incident during the premiere of Pushpa 2: The Rise at Sandhya Theatre in Hyderabad. The event, which saw massive crowds gathering to see Allu Arjun and music director Devi Sri Prasad, turned chaotic when the main gate of the theatre collapsed, causing a stampede. A 35-year-old woman lost her life, and her 9-year-old son sustained severe injuries.
KTR, who is also the son of former Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao, criticized the police action, alleging it reflects poorly on the government. He took to X and tweeted, “Arrest of National Award winning star Allu Arjun is the pinnacle of insecurity of the rulers! I totally sympathize with the victims of the stampede but who failed really? Treating @alluarjun Garu as a common criminal is uncalled for especially for something he isn’t directly responsible. There is always space for respect & dignified conduct. I strongly condemn the high handed behaviour of Govt. Going by the same perverse logic, Revanth Reddy should be arrested for causing the death of two innocent people who died in Hyderabad because of the fear psychosis caused by Hydra #AlluArjunArrest”

The arrest has sparked a debate, with supporters of the actor and political commentators questioning the rationale behind holding Arjun accountable for the incident.
Further developments are awaited as the case progresses.
