Sachin Tendulkar celebrated KL Rahul and Rishabh Pant’s centuries on social media following their outstanding performances on day four of the first Test between India and England at Headingley in Leeds this past Monday.
“KL Rahul’s calm. Rishabh Pant’s flair. Two special knocks. Two proud moments,” Tendulkar posted on X, formerly Twitter, commending the contrasting yet equally impactful batting styles of the two cricketers.
KL Rahul’s knock marked his ninth Test century, while Rishabh Pant, who had already scored a century in the first innings of the match, reached his eighth. The dynamic duo forged a crucial 195-run partnership for the fourth wicket, providing the backbone for India’s strong response after Gill’s early departure.
The Indian team got all out on the score of 364 and gave a target of 371 runs to the England team to win the match. By the end of day 4, England had scored 21 for no loss of wicket and now it will need to score 350 runs in 90 overs for winning the first test match.
