The famous television actress Urvashi Dholakia who is more famous as Komalika was just 18 when she separated from her husband and decided to raise her twin sons, Kshitij and Sagar, on her own.
In a recent interview, she shared how difficult that phase was for her. The actress admitted that the separation took a serious toll on her emotionally and mentally. She even locked herself in a room for a month, trying to process everything and figure out how to move forward.
Talking about the pain of separation, Urvashi said it wasn’t easy, but she couldn’t let it affect her too much. Being so young at the time, she relied heavily on her parents for support. She expressed gratitude towards them, saying that without their help, she doesn’t know what she would have done. She also acknowledged that many women in similar situations don’t receive the same kind of support.
Her twin sons never showed any interest in knowing their father. She revealed that while they had conversations about it, the boys were clear that they didn’t want to know anything about him. Despite her efforts to talk to them about it, they remained firm in their decision, and over time, even she stopped thinking about it.
Urvashi also mentioned that their father had no contact with them since they were just one and a half years old. By the time she turned 18, she had taken on both parental roles, being both a mother and a father to her children.
Kudos to her!
