Magnitude 4.5 Earthquake: Nepal on High Alert

The Nepal Seismological Centre reports that early on Thursday morning, an earthquake with a magnitude of 4.5 occurred in Nepal. The earthquake was felt at roughly 1:20 a.m. (local time) and had its epicenter in the Himalayan nation’s Chitlang region of Makwanpur. Despite this, no injuries were reported.

Nepal is currently attempting to recover after the November 3 earthquake, which had a magnitude of 6.4 and caused significant property and casualty damage. For those impacted by the magnitude 6.4 earthquake, India dispatched an emergency help package that included supplies for relief efforts, medical equipment, and more.

In Nepal, the powerful earthquake that rocked New Delhi and other regions of north India caused 157 fatalities and numerous injuries. Acting as the initial responder, India delivered supplies of relief supplies and necessary medications to help the populations devastated by the earthquake.

According to External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar, this prompt action is consistent with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s “Neighborhood First Policy,” which highlights India’s dedication to helping its neighbors in times of need. India dispatched its fourth shipment of vital medical supplies to Nepal as part of its earthquake relief efforts on Monday.

Assistance includes essential medications and supplies and is determined by the guidelines provided by the Nepal Medical Association. As of right now, India has sent more than 34 tons of emergency supplies to Nepal to assist the impacted people after the November 3 earthquake that struck Jajarkot and the adjacent districts.
