Rajkumar Hirani’s “3 Idiots” which featured Aamir Khan, R. Madhavan, Sharman Joshi, Kareena Kapoor and Boman Irani in important roles was a superhit movie and there would be hardly any youngster who has not watched it. The flick broke many records and its scenes and dialogues are still popular among the youth even after more than a decade of its release.
While all the character of the flick had something extraordinary, no one can forget Suhas (portrayed by Olivier Lafont), fiancé of Pia (Kareena). He was a laughing stock for audiences and was named as ‘price tag’ because he used to tell the price of all the things which used to get spoiled by Pia mistakenly. Remember 4-lakh rupee watch, 400-dollar shoes, 1.5 lakh ki sherwani?
Indeed, he talks about price of expensive stuffs but who doesn’t? There’s a hidden Suhas in all of us, the difference is just that we don’t accept or show this side. Agree?
Well after a decade, a Twitter user expresses sympathy with the character of Suhas and explains why he is actually a hero and not someone to be ridiculed.
In a couple of tweets, he wrote,
“Suhas, I used to laugh at you as a kid, but as I grew up, I realized you were a good man. Losing a 4-lakh rupee watch, for which you had worked tirelessly, would drive anyone crazy.
I now understand now how it feels when a pair of 400 dollar shoes get dirty. Everyone dreams of earning more money, and you were not wrong in making your career choice.
‘Tumne sab kamaya tha shyad islye tumhe keemat yaad thi’ :)”
The second tweet read,
“As someone who grew up in the middle class, I understand the struggle to chase IITs and IIMs in pursuit of our dreams.
Even spilling chutney on a sherwani worth 1.5 lakhs on your wedding day and having your fiance walk away from the mandap was not funny.
You were a hero :)”
We must accept that the Twitter user has mentioned a valid point and though Suhas’ way of expression may be rude, he wasn’t a bad guy at all! Agree?
