The Indian online e-commerce company Flipkart is making headlines for all the wrong reasons as a tweet is going viral in which a customer stated that he ordered a Sony television worth Rs. 1 lakh but when the box was opened, it had a cheap TV of Thomson brand.
What made it worse was the unprofessional manner in which Flipkart customer care handled the issue as they didn’t give him a proper resolution and kept him waiting. The online user tweeted, “I had purchased a Sony TV from @Flipkart on 7th Oct, delivered on 10th Oct and Sony installation guy came on 11th Oct, he unboxed the TV himself and we were shocked to see a Thomson TV Inside Sony box that too with no accessories like stand, remote, etc.”
The customer bought this television for the purpose of watching the World Cup 2023 but this incident has given him stress rather than enjoyment. He also revealed that customer care executives kept saying to him to upload photos despite the fact that he uploaded them and then they gave him resolution date of 24 Oct but on 20 Oct, they showed that the resolution was solved.
He further said that now he has got the resolution date of November 1 but even before that, they are showing that the issue is resolved despite the return not getting processed.
After the tweet went viral and got more than 210K views, the company responded to the tweet and asked for the customer’s address details as they want to sort this issue.
Hopefully the matter will get resolved soon and certainly this is the power of social media.
