In a horrific incident, a 35 years old man ordered vegetarian food from a Mumbai restaurant and the restaurant delivered dal makhni with a dead rat floating in it along with some cockroaches.
The name of the victim is Rajeev Shukla, he is a lawyer by profession and a vegetarian by his eating habits. He came to explore Mumbai and on 8th Jan, he ordered a Classic Veg Meal Box Regular from Barbeque Nation, Worli in Mumbai. After the food arrived, he started eating it but soon he saw the dead rat and cockroaches which gave him gastric distress, food poisoning, nausea, vomiting, etc. and he had to spend more than 75 hours in a hospital for medical treatment.
Rajeev Shukla told the media, “I wanted to explore Mumbai and so I did, coming all the way from Prayagraj but possibly, this might be my last trip. I am a Brahmin and a pure vegetarian, but when my Barbeque Nation order arrived, it gave me the shock of my life. The food contained a dead rat and cockroaches. I suffered food poisoning and got admitted to Nair hospital.”
He immediately informed the restaurant about the bad food served by them but they didn’t seem to be much concerned and serious about it. He shared the details of his communication with the restaurant on X:
When Rajeev Shukla didn’t get a correct response from the restaurant, six days later he filed a police complaint against the owner, manager and chef of Barbeque Nation at Nagpada Police Station.
This is really disgusting.
