Manjrekar Shows ‘World Cup’ Concern For Hardik Pandya, Compares With 2011WC Team

The ICC ODI World Cup 2023 is just around the corner as it is going to start from 5 October 2023 and Indian fans are very hopeful of the Indian team winning the trophy as it is going to be held in India this time.

However, there is a lot of difference between the squad of 2011 which won the World Cup under MS Dhoni’s leadership and the current Indian side. While MS Dhoni’s team was a balanced side, the team management is not able to find correct combinations for the present team and the experimentation took place even in the last tour which was against West Indies.

The lack of depth in batting and Hardik Pandya’s form as a bowler is also a matter of concern for the Indian team management.

Recently, the former Indian cricketer Sanjay Manjrekar talked in detail why Hardik Pandya is crucial for team India as a bowler, not just as a batsman, he said in the interview, “Hardik Pandya’s form is a little bit of concern, his bowling because you will have to do a lot of physical work in the World Cup because you need him as the all-rounder not just a batter so at least 6-7 over per innings is what is expected from him. When India won the World Cup in 2011, it was because of people like Suresh Raina and Yuvraj Singh pure batters who bowled a bit, so Hardik Pandya’s bowling is very important.”

That is a valid statement, what do you think?
