Mark Zuckerberg Unveils Plans for Super-Intelligent AI for All

Mark Zuckerberg, CEO of Meta Platforms, plans to focus on AGI and open-sourced AI. The company wants to develop super-intelligent technologies using human skill and computational power. Meta is training Llama 3 and constructing enormous computational infrastructure. The company wants to use Nvidia’s H100 GPUs to boost cloud capabilities by 2024. The open-source Meta Large Language model is Llama 2.

Over the past year, AI has been buzzing with activity and new developments. Mark Zuckerberg, CEO of Meta Platforms, made the latest revelation. As every tech giant introduces new AI tools and experiments with massive Language Models (LMMs), Meta has been developing its own AI capabilities without trying to take the spotlight from OpenAI, Google, or Microsoft. In the latest revelation, Zuckerberg revealed Meta’s AI efforts are focused on providing consumers with advanced and accessible solutions. He noted that Meta will likely open-source its artificial general intelligence (AGI) technology as it expands its AI initiatives. Self-aware AI is the goal of the AI race.

He was reported as saying “We’ve come to this view that, in order to build the products that we want to build, we need to build for general intelligence.”

The top two needs? Zuckerberg claims human skill and computing power.

How far has Meta come in this goal? He continues, “We have built up the capacity to do this at a scale that may be larger than any other individual company.” He said, “I think a lot of people may not appreciate that.”.

Meta developing Llama 3 and AGI

Zuckerberg announced Meta’s AI research boost in a video Instagram post. He said the Fundamental AI Research (FAIR) team will cover several AI subjects. Other Generative AI research will help Meta construct Llama 3. Zuckerberg stated in the video, “We’re currently training our next-gen model Llama 3, and we’re building massive compute infrastructure to support our future roadmap.”

Zuckerberg also announced plans to extend cloud capabilities by 2024 with 340000 Nvidia H100 GPUs and 600000 H100 counterparts from other GPUs. He continued, “We have built up the capacity to do this at a scale that may be larger than any other individual company.”

As many businesses compete to build powerful LLMs and AGIs, Meta has launched exciting new technologies for developers to explore and develop generative AI tools.

Meta and Microsoft collaborated on Llama 2, an open-source Large Language model. Developers can create AI models and apps using the model. It enables firms, startups, entrepreneurs, and researchers quick tools for constructing and solving challenges. With Llama 3, users can learn more about sophisticated, human-like AI.

Conclusion

Mark Zuckerberg, CEO of Meta Platforms, plans to focus on AGI and open-source AI. The company wants to develop super-intelligent technologies using human skill and computational power. Meta is training Llama 3 and constructing huge compute infrastructure for its future plan. Zuckerberg aims to improve cloud capabilities by 2024 with 34,000 Nvidia H100 GPUs and 600,000 H100 equivalents (including other GPUs). Meta joined the race to build advanced LLMs and AGIs with Llama 2, an open-source Large Language model built with Microsoft. Llama 3 lets developers build AI models or apps with quick problem-solving solutions.
