McDonald’s Serves Products Without Tomatoes Amid Price Hike, Foodies React

The increasing prices of tomatoes have become a big concern for the Indian households as tomato is an integral ingredient of Indian curries and food is definitely incomplete without tomatoes. Usually in the rainy season, prices of vegetables increase but tomatoes are being sold at a huge price of Rs. 150/kg in the majority parts of the country and in some parts, it is being sold at a whopping price of Rs. 200/kg.

However, it is not just common public but the multinational company McDonald’s is also finding it difficult to afford tomatoes and they have announced that they will be serving food without tomatoes till further notice.

Recently a Twitter user shared a photo of a notice which was put up by the management of McDonalds, Connaught Plaza, and it read,

“Dear customers, we are ever committed to serve you the best food with the best of ingredients. Despite our best efforts, we cannot get adequate tomatoes that pass our world-class, stringent quality checks. Hence, we are forced to serve you products without tomatoes. We are working to get the tomato supplies back.”

The Twitter user wrote, “Mcdonalds, Delhi put up this notice! Even Mcdonalds cannot afford tomatoes now!” with laughing emojis.
