In the 1980s, actress Meenakshi Seshadri made her mark in Hindi cinema, working alongside major stars like Amitabh Bachchan, Rishi Kapoor, Rajesh Khanna, Jeetendra, Anil Kapoor and Shatrughan Sinha.
Her first film with Amitabh Bachchan was Shahenshah (1988), where she was still relatively new in the industry. Recently, she recalled a memorable interaction with Bachchan during the film’s shoot.
Reflecting on her experience, Meenakshi Seshadri shared in an interview, “On the first day of shoot, we were in Ooty, and I was filled with the confidence of a young age. I wasn’t even a tad bit nervous. It didn’t even hit me that Amitabh Bachchan was on set and that I should behave in a certain way with respect. I was just chattering away. In one of the scenes, I had to wear a pair of shorts and a top, even then I was very relaxed.”
She added, “Seeing this, Amit ji commented, ‘These newcomers are lost in their own world,’ and he’s right. Now, when I work with young people, I remember his words, like kalachakra (wheel of time).”
Well, that was an interesting revelation.
