Michael Clarke Schools Ben Duckett, Says He Must Have Missed Australia For 20 Years

The cricket teams of England and India will be facing each other in the fourth test match which will be played at Ranchi from 23 Feb and this is a must win match for both the teams as the hosts will seal the series in their name if they win this match and the visitors need to win this match to keep their chances of winning the series alive.

The England cricket team has adopted an aggressive approach (Bazball) of playing test cricket since Ben Stokes and Brendon McCullum have taken over as the skipper and the coach, respectively. Though the English team tasted success in the first test match yet successive defeats in two test matches have irked many former English cricketers and they have shown no mercy in slamming the skipper and the coach for following the Bazball approach.

In fact, English cricketer Ben Duckett feels that they should be given credit for the manner in which Yashasvi Jaiswal has been playing in the series. He said that it feels good that other teams are also playing an aggressive style of cricket in test matches.

Earlier, former English cricketer Nasser Hussain slammed Ben Duckett for his statement and cleared that Yashasvi was not following Bazball, now former Australian cricketer Michael Clarke has spoken on this matter and he clearly has some message for Ben Duckett.

Michael Clarke said “He (Duckett) must have missed Australia for 20 years. As a youngster, he must not know what Test cricket Australia played. Has he heard of Matthew Hayden, Michael Slater, Ricky Ponting, Damien Martyn, Adam Gilchrist? These guys used to smack it as good as everyone.”

He further said, “Because you play a reverse sweep or a switch hit or a ramp shot, that doesn’t mean you are batting aggressively either. Matthew Hayden just walked down the wicket and hit you straight over your head for a six. He didn’t have to play a ramp or a switch hit.”

What is your take on this matter? Do let us know.
