The auctions for the IPL 2024 are currently going on in Coca Cola arena, Dubai and it won’t be wrong to say that the Aussie cricketers are having a gala time.

Earlier Aussie skipper Pat Cummins became the first player to touch the Rs. 20 crore mark as he has been bought by Sunrisers Hyderabad for a whopping price of Rs. 20.5 crore after an intense battle between Royal Challengers Bangalore and SRH and now Mitchell Starc scripted history by becoming the most expensive player of the IPL history.

Mitchell Starc was listed at the base price of Rs. 2 crore and as his name was announced, Mumbai Indians and Delhi Capitals started bidding aggressively. The bid crossed Rs. 5 crore mark in few minutes but MI got slowed down at Rs. 9 crore bid as they have only Rs. 12.75 crore in their kitty but DC was in no mood to slow down as they had Rs. 24.45 crore for bidding.

While MI decided to leave the race, Gujarat Titans and Kolkata Knight Riders decided to start bidding for Mitchell Starc and both these teams have Rs. 31 crore in their bags for the bidding purpose.

The bidding crossed Rs. 10 crore mark, then 12 crore mark, then 15 crore mark and then Mitchell Starc became the second player in the IPL history to touch the Rs. 20 crore mark. GT took the bidding to Rs. 22.5 crore and KKR responded with Rs. 23.75 crore and GT then took it to Rs. 24 crore.

Gautam Gambhir who has recently joined KKR as the mentor had a chat with CEO Venky Mysore and they made a bid of Rs. 24.25 crore. In response, GT made a bid of Rs. 24.50 crore, once again Gautam Gambhir had a chat with Venky and they made a fresh bid of Rs. 24.75 crore.

GT decided to pull out and KKR made the biggest deal in the history of the IPL as they bought Mitchell Starc for Rs. 24.75 crore.
