India’s fast bowler, Mohammed Siraj, has been appointed as the Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) under the supervision of the Director General of Police (DGP) in Telangana. Siraj officially took charge on Friday after meeting with Telangana Director General of Police Jitender, along with senior officials at the DGP office.

This honor follows Siraj’s return to Hyderabad after playing a key role in India’s victorious T20 World Cup campaign in Barbados. To celebrate his achievements, Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, fulfilling a previous promise, awarded Siraj a 600-square-yard plot at Road No 78, Jubilee Hills, one of Hyderabad’s most prestigious areas.

Siraj has steadily risen through the ranks since his debut during India’s tour of Australia in 2020-21, overcoming numerous challenges. Now counted among India’s top three fast bowlers, Siraj has become a key player in the Indian cricket team across all formats.

To date, the right-arm pacer has represented India in 29 Tests, 44 ODIs, and 16 T20Is, claiming 78 wickets in Tests, 71 in ODIs, and 14 in T20Is. His hard work and dedication have not only earned him accolades on the field but also this prestigious role as DSP in his home state.
