The former Indian skipper MS Dhoni is one of the most loved cricketers of the world and he is the only skipper who has won three ICC trophies (2007 T20 World Cup, 2011 ODI World Cup and 2013 Champions Trophy).

While the majority of cricketers are pretty active on social media, MS Dhoni is one cricketer who rarely appears on his social media accounts and recently during an event, he talked about the benefits of being disconnected. In fact, he also revealed that he looks for his phone in the night because he has to set the alarm for the next morning.

MS Dhoni stated, “It helps a lot (being disconnected). I have a phone but the only time I look for it is at night because I have to set the alarm for the morning. So, for me, my phone basically does the job of waking me up in the morning.”

The captain cool further added, “When you are playing for India or if you are a known personality, everyone has an opinion about you. Whatever you do, there will be an opinion about you. Some will say good things, while some will speak badly. As humans, if you are too much connected to social media or a mobile phone, you are spending too much time over there, you feel good or you feel bad. Sometimes, you know that there is no relevance to a comment but because we are humans, you still feel bad. So, especially before a tournament or when you’re going through a lean patch, I always advise the youngsters to stay away from mobile.”

MS Dhoni retired in 2020 from international cricket but he is still playing in the IPL for CSK and holds the title of being the most successful IPL skipper jointly with Rohit Sharma as they both have won the IPL title 5 times.

Well said, MS Dhoni.
