Mukesh Ambani delivers keynote speech at Pandit Deendayal Energy University’s 11th convocation

Mukesh Ambani, Chairman and Managing Director of Reliance Industries, spoke at Pandit Deendayal Energy University (PDEU)’s 11th convocation ceremony about energy transition and India’s transformation into a global leader in green, sustainable, and inclusive development. Ambani highlighted four key university training projects.

Mukesh Ambani, Reliance Industries Chairman and Managing Director and President of Pandit Deendayal Energy University (PDEU), told students at the institute’s 11th convocation that energy transition is the most important factor in India’s transformation into a global leader in green, sustainable, and inclusive development and that PDEU is at the forefront of education and research in this area.

He discussed four significant university training programs, including a 45 MW Solar PV production line to teach solar energy production. The initiatives include a Smart Hybrid Micro-Grid System to educate energy storage, an Apple Lab for cutting-edge technological discovery and skill development, and a multi-game Sports Arena to develop top athletes.

Mukesh Ambani welcomed ISRO Director S Somanath, the chief guest, “You inspire PDEU students and millions of bright young brains in India. Every Indian is proud of ISRO’s Chandrayan 3 achievement. It has made India a global space power. You were the best person to mentor and inspire our graduating students as they enter the workforce.”

The Reliance Chairman told students and faculty, “Visiting PDEU fills me with pride, exhilaration, and genuine happiness. I feel the enthusiasm of a future-great Indian generation. I feel the pulse of a nation on the verge of transformation here. GSIRF awarded our proud university 5-star status. The first private institution in Gujarat to receive NAAC’s A++ rating. Over 788 Scopus-indexed publications have been published by PDEU. Over 150 patents and copyrights cover product design and process improvements.”

Mukesh Ambani addressed former Finance Secretary and PDEU Chairman of Committee Hasmukh Adhiaji, “I admire your leadership in elevating PDEU. You led the institution with vision, passion, and determination. Under your direction, PDEU has excelled and inspired Indian Energy Education. Our Most Respected Prime Minister Shri Narendrabhai Modi, our supreme master, has provided our institution a sterling leader. My sincerest thanks.”

“PDEU is not just an energy university. A clean, green, and sustainable future is being realized in this crucible. India will experience tremendous economic growth in 25 years. The economy will grow from 3.5 trillion dollars to 40 trillion by 2047. The country will need massive amounts of clean, green energy that won’t suffocate Mother Nature to advance. He added that India’s energy needs will double by the end of the decade.

India faces three important questions as it tries to construct a viable energy infrastructure to accomplish its goals:

One: How can it assure every Indian person and economic activity has inexpensive, enough energy?
Two: Can it quickly switch to clean, green energy from fossil fuels?
Three: How can it protect its fast-growing economy from foreign volatility?

I name these three questions the Energy Trilemma. India has great young brains that have sworn to tackle the Climate Crisis, so I’m convinced it can find clever and sustainable answers to this trilemma. They will create innovative energy solutions to develop a strong, Atmanirbhar India and a safer, healthier planet “his speech continued.

Mukesh Ambani added, “You all came to campus as seedlings with immense potential. You stand tall like a blossoming tree on the threshold of your career. The tree’s wide branches represent your intelligence and strength. Your parents and PDEU instructors will be proud of you today. Because they patiently, lovingly, and cared for the young samplings. They fed your curiosity, guided your aspirations, and fostered your personal and academic growth.”

“A tree’s roots are its strength, not its height or width. The roots that nourish and maintain you are your parents. They always trusted you more than you did. They urged you to explore your tremendous potential beyond your imagined bounds. They were your rock through thick and thin. Your success is built on their unwavering support, encouragement, and sacrifices. Remember that every ovation you receive reflects your parents’ love, pride, and appreciation. You share the most important tie in life. Always cherish and care for it. The Reliance CMD said it would take you far.
