Cinemas will band together to celebrate “National Cinema Day” on September 16 by offering films for only Rs. 75, according to a tweet from the Multiplex Association of India.

The Multiplex Association of India (MAI) has unveiled a generous offer in a first for the National Cinema Day. The MAI is providing discounted movie tickets in honour of National Cinema Day. On September 16, tickets to the film will only cost Rs 75 (at certain theatres).

The Rs. 75 movie tickets, according to the MAI, were given as a “thank you” to moviegoers who helped the theatres successfully reopen after the pandemic-induced lockdowns.

Notably, the event will be celebrated at 4,000 theatres all throughout India, including well-known chains like PVR and Cinepolis.
