Some time back, the food delivery app Swiggy released a report about the food-ordering trends of its customers in the year 2023 and now Zomato has disclosed the food-ordering trends of this year and gives us an insight into the eating habits of Indians.
As per the report by Zomato, a Mumbai resident named Hanees has been awarded with the title of the “nation’s biggest foodie” as he ordered 3580 orders in the year 2023 from Zomato which calculates to more than 9 orders per day.
While another customer from Mumbai created a record by making 121 orders in a single day, the largest single order worth Rs. 46,273 was by a person from Bengaluru and there is one person from the Silicon Valley of India who sent 1389 gift orders worth Rs. 6.6 lakh through Zomato.
If Bengaluru was at the top in terms of making breakfast orders, Delhi secured the top spot in making late-night orders.
As biryani was the most ordered dish by Swiggy users, it is the same in Zomato as well and the second spot was taken by Pizza. More than 10 crore biryanis were ordered by Indians through Zomato and around 7.45 crore pizzas were ordered by Indians this year.
