On many occasions, we have seen people complaining about the neighbourhood kids who ran away after ringing the doorbell but in a horrific incident, two educated young girls entered a building at 2:30 am in Mumbai, tried to latch the doors of some flats and rang their doorbell many times, causing distress to the residents.
The senior citizens were left terrified with this act of the girls and what made things more problematic is the fact that this building has a history of security lapses as theft, robberies and some other serious crimes have taken place in the nearby areas.
One of the residents, Shresth Poddar took to X and posted the video in which both the girls were seen climbing the stairs and ringing the doorbells. They certainly looked intoxicated and this is what Poddar posted with the video, “2.30 am last night. 2 young, educated girls entered & recorded themselves trying to lock the doors & ring the bells of houses multiple times, in my building, which has mostly 55+ & senior residents, & a history of previous incidents. They knew CCTVs were present.”
He also asked online users to suggest how to get connected with these girls and how to report about them. However, the girls were recognized offline and they were reprimanded as well. In the latest tweet, Poddar informed that the girls apologized to the residents, especially to the senior citizens and all the members unanimously decided not to complain to the police and the video was also deleted.
Poddar tweeted, “The girls came and apologised to the senior citizens of the building. With the consensus of the residents, we are removing the visuals and the thread. Thank you for the support extended by so many of you.”
Well, this type of behaviour is certainly inappropriate and youngsters should behave responsibly.
