Mumbai police arrest 4 for stealing Adani Electricity’s 6,000-kg iron bridge

On Saturday, the Mumbai police took four persons into custody for stealing an iron bridge that weighed  6,000 kilograms from a sewer in one of the city’s western districts, an official said.

The Bangur Nagar police official said Adani Electricity built the 90-foot-long metal tower in Malad (west) to transmit massive electrical lines.

A few months ago, a permanent bridge was erected across the drain, and the temporary structure was moved.

The electricity company reported the missing temporary bridge to the police on June 26, the official said.

The cops discovered that the bridge was last spotted there on June 6 after conducting their investigation.

The official said investigators searched for the enormous automobile on June 11 using footage from nearby CCTV cameras as there were no cameras at the spot.

Police found the automobile using the registration number. According to the official, “the vehicle had gas-cutting machines that were used to disassemble the bridge and steal iron weighing 6,000 kg.”The cops found a bridge construction worker after additional investigation. The official said cops arrested the staff member and three of his friends last week.

He stated that the stuff taken from the location has been found.
