Mumbai Police Receives Threat Ahead Of IND-NZ Semi-Final Match

The first semi-final of the ongoing ICC ODI World Cup 2023 will be played today between India and New Zealand at Wankhede Stadium. There is no denying the fact that Mumbai Police must have made proper security arrangements but the security concerns got increased after Mumbai Police received a threat on Wednesday related to the match by an unidentified person.

The person tagged Mumbai Police in a tweet in which he posted images of guns, hand grenades and bullets. Mumbai Police made no delay in investigation and arrested a 17 years old youngster from Latur but it is still not clear as to why he made the threat.

A Mumbai Police official stated this in regard to security arrangements made for the India-New Zealand encounter, “Proper security measures are being made in south Mumbai, all vehicles entering this area are being checked. We have deployed around seven DCPs, 200 police officials for this game.”

The second semi-final will be played between Australia and South Africa tomorrow at Eden Gardens, Kolkata and winners of both the semi-finals will play against each other in the final match which will be played on 19 November at Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad.
