The veteran Bollywood actor, Nana Patekar is currently making headlines for all the wrong reasons as a video has gone viral in which he is seen slapping a fan who wants to take a selfie with him. The senior actor was shooting in Varanasi for the movie, Journey when this incident took place. The movie is directed by Anil Sharma and it also stars Utkarsh Sharma in an important role.

Now Nana Patekar has issued a clarification in regard to this matter and he stated that the sequence was a part of their movie; they had one rehearsal and were scheduled to have the second rehearsal. He added that when the fan came, he (Nana) thought that he was a crew member and he rehearsed the scene and he had no idea that he was a fan who wanted to take a photo.

This is what Nana Patekar said in the video message, “A video is going viral in which I have hit a boy. Though this sequence is a part of our film, we had one rehearsal… We were scheduled to have a second rehearsal. The director told me to begin. We were about to begin when the boy in the video came in. I didn’t know who he was, I thought he was one of our crew so I slapped him as per the scene and I told him to leave.”

Nana Patekar further added, “Later, I came to know that he was not a part of the crew. So, I was going to call him back but he ran away. Maybe his friend shot the video. I have never said no to anybody for a photo. I don’t do this… This happened by mistake… If there is some misunderstanding, please forgive me… I will never do anything like this…”
