The work culture is certainly one aspect of an organisation which matters a lot to its employees because no one can live happily by working in a toxic culture and there has to be a work-life balance if a person has to live a healthy and happy life.
However, we have seen in many cases that Indian companies have no hesitation in making their employees work for more hours or do overtime in order to increase the production.
Recently, the Indian businessman Narayana Murthy made a statement in a podcast regarding India’s productivity and the need for Indian youngsters to work for 70 hours in a week in order to compete with other economies which have grown tremendously in the last 2-3 decades.
This statement was not taken in a good manner by netizens and they had some really angry reactions:
