Aliya Fakhri, sister of Bollywood actress Nargis Fakhri, has been accused of murdering her ex-boyfriend, Edward Jacobs, and his friend, Anastasia Star Ettienne. The incident reportedly involved a fire in Queens, New York, which caused the victims to succumb to smoke inhalation and thermal injuries.
Nargis Fakhri has not made an official statement about the case. However, a source close to her told a news portal that she learned about the situation through the media just like other people. According to the report, Nargis has been estranged from her sister for over 20 years.
Aliya Fakhri has been arrested on charges of setting fire to a two-story garage in Queens, leading to the tragic deaths of Jacobs and Ettienne. She has been denied bail and remains detained at Rikers Island, New York City’s largest jail. Despite pleading not guilty, Aliya faces the possibility of a life sentence if convicted.
Nargis and Aliya’s mother has denied the allegations against Aliya. In a statement reported by multiple outlets, she said, “I don’t think she would kill someone. She was a caring person who tried to help everybody.”
