Nawazuddin Siddiqui is certainly one of the most talented actors of the industry and one of the most versatile as well because we have seen him playing characters of different shades.
Nawazuddin started his career with small roles and now he plays lead or negative characters in movies. Recently during an interview, Nawaz made it clear that now he won’t be doing small roles. In his words, “In Bollywood, there are big and small roles, and my quota of small roles is over. Why should I not do bigger roles now? Every actor wishes to do bigger roles, smaller roles is just the beginning. It is fine in the beginning, but every actor wants to do bigger roles. If I tell a star to do a small role in my film, will he ever do it?”
He further added that sometimes small roles also need talent and expertise but this is not the case with Hindi movies. He further strengthened his statement as he cited the example of Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer and said, “I liked the conversations that happened in Oppenheimer because here we have a dialogue-oriented approach. We are more focused on the punch in the dialogues. We lack in conversations, which is the most difficult thing to do in front of the camera.”
Nawaz was seen last in the movie Haddi in which he played the complex character of a transwoman and he was appreciated a lot for his acting.
