Nawazuddin Siddiqui reveals how people misbehaved with him when he was not successful, says even spot boy used to ignore him
Nawazuddin Siddiqui’s latest release Jogira Sara Ra Ra may not have performed well on the box-office but his fans are quite sure that he will make a strong comeback with a hit movie soon as he is one of the most talented and most versatile actors of the industry.
Nawaz has struggled a lot before tasting success and has done many small roles before he got to do the lead roles. Recently, the actor revealed that he had some really bad experiences in his struggling days; for example, he talked about the time when he was pulled by the collar when he sat to have food with an A-lister.
During an event, Nawaz revealed how people misbehaved with him because he was not successful at that time. He said, “Sometimes on set, I would ask the spot boy for water, and he’d completely ignore me. Then you’d have to get it yourself. A lot of productions here segregate the cast and crew during meal times. Junior artists eat separately, the supporting artists have their own space, and the main leads are also separated.”
Nawazuddin Siddiqui praised Yash Raj Productions for promoting the culture of making everyone eat together, he stated, “I have to credit Yash Raj Films for doing this, everybody eats together. But a lot of production houses have divisions. I would often try to eat where the main leads were eating, but I’d be dragged out by the collar. I was ego-driven, and I would get angry. I thought actors should be given more respect. And sometimes they’d let me through.”
Do you feel that everyone on the sets should eat together to create a better and positive ambience? What is your take in this regard?
